Our Vision
Empowering Adults with Disabilities
Our Mission
The Forest Fritter Friends exist to equip adults with disabilities with the skills and training required to attain meaningful employment and live life to the fullest.
Meet Mark
Mark is 30 years old; he enjoys movies, thrift shopping and riding his bike. He also loves routine and functions best when his routine is followed closely. This is because Mark has Autism. He is the reason why his parents Tom and Janet, founded the Forest Fritter Friends.
It is a challenge for individuals like Mark to do some of the things that other people their age are doing, such as working, going places and having a group of friends. The Forest Fritter Friends are on a mission to change that. Through our supportive learning program and encouraging atmosphere our “Team Members” are equipped with skills for future employment while also building community with their peers.
What makes this business different is that all profits that are generated are put back into the enterprise and into creating employment opportunities for the disabled in our community. Being a totally inclusive not-for-profit business, we hope to encourage the general public to interact and get to know our “Team Members” and ultimately to build a more compassionate society. Your patronage is appreciated and demonstrates that you also believe in building a more compassionate society…one fritter at a time
Our Faith
As Christians, we believe that we are called to honour God in all things. It is our hope that the Forest Fritter Friends will bring glory to God as we seek to enable those with abilities in our community. Proverbs 3:5-6 has been a guiding verse for us and for our vision of the Forest Fritter Friends & it says
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
